The Shaler Township Police Department now has a Prescription Drug Take Back Box available in the lobby of the Police Department. Residents may now drop off prescription drugs or over-the-counter medications.
Regular Collection is 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Arrangements may be made for after-hours by calling 412-492-2222.
The following stipulations apply for the use of the box.
Medications, whether prescription or over-the-counter, from households are accepted.
Medications may be disposed of in the original container or in a sealed plastic bag.
Liquids must remain in the original container.
No needles, syringes or lancets shall be placed in the drop box.
The box was provided thanks to the PA Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP).
