Shaler Township is a residential community located in the North Hills, minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. It is bordered by Hampton, Ross, Millvale, Indiana, Etna, Reserve, Sharpsburg and O'Hara.

Covering 10.5 square miles of land and with a population of approximately 29,000, Shaler Township has many assets, including local business and parks. Shaler is a residential community, that is in close proximity (less than 6 miles) to downtown Pittsburgh, with its world class universities, premier health care systems and cultural and recreational facilities. This makes Shaler Township an attractive community in which to live and conduct business.

Services

Shaler Township offers its' residents an exceptional level of service with a full time police department, emergency medical services, 6 volunteer fire companies, and a full service public works department. These services, complimented with a variety of recreational opportunities for walking, hiking, youth activities and an outstanding Township supported public library. Shaler Township is located within the Shaler Area School District.
