Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer
The Township of Shaler is accepting applications and resumes for the position of CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER/BUILDING INSPECTOR. This position is appointed by the Board of Commissioners. This position acts as field inspector of the Township zoning ordinance and enforces all related Township ordinances and state laws and regulations. This position also regulates new and existing construction within the Township relative to applicable building and property maintenance codes.
Applicants must possess (or earn within 6 months of employment) the following:
- ICC Residential Building, Mechanical and Energy Inspector Certifications (Certifications 10, 12 & 14)
- ICC Commercial Building Inspector (Certification 15)
- ICC Accessibility Inspector / Plans examiner (Certification 23)
- ICC Building Code Official
- Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Driver’s License
Applicant must be proficient in MS Office computer programs. The salary range is $70,000 - $85,000 depending on experience and certifications. Residency within Shaler Township is not required, but preference will be given to Township residents. The Township of Shaler is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
