From: Samuel Scarfone, Executive Director Hampton Shaler Water Authority
Due to the ruptured 16" pumping main at the Hampton Shaler Water Authority plant that occurred in the early morning hours on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, the Hampton Shaler Water Authority system remains in a mandatory water conservation situation. All non-essential use must be curtailed including filling pools, watering lawns and car washing. The repairs are moving slowly due to the proximity of the main break, which is on a very steep cliff side. The mandatory water conservation will stay in place at least through Monday, at which time the break is expected to be repaired. Customers of HSWA include Hampton Township, Shaler Township, Sharpsburg Borough, Etna Borough, parts of West Deer Township, Indiana Township and O’Hara Township. Customers will be notified by telephone when normal water usage may resume.
