On Monday, 02/23/2026, Shaler Twp Police Dept took a report of two suspects scamming customers in the lot at our Giant Eagle. They were saying they needed money for a funeral but could not take cash. The victims would give them a credit/debit card for the donation, and they would electronically copy the cards and either make charges on them or access to the victim's bank account to transfer money to a PayPal account. They were driving a black Chrysler Pacifica. The two suspects were described as black males. Shaler PD continues to investigate and if you are a victim or have any information, please contact our department.

Additionally, please use caution as many fraudulent activities are active in our area. Do not provide anyone soliciting money in person or over the phone with any personal or financial information. If you have questions, please feel free to contact our agency.
