THIRD PARTY, INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES
Yesterday was the deadline for third-party and independent candidates to file for offices on the ballot for the November 2, 2021 election. A total of 32 individuals filed. Objections to those nomination papers can be filed now through August 9, with that date also serving as the last date for candidates to withdraw who were nominated at the primary or nominated by nomination papers. If no challenges are filed, or if the challenges are dismissed by the Court, these 32 candidates will be listed on the November ballot.
A full list of those candidates is available on the Elections website on the Election Day Updates (May 18, 2021 Primary) and Candidates pages.
POLL WORKER RECRUITMENT
The Elections Division is recruiting poll workers for the 2021 Municipal Election on November 2, 2021. You can demonstrate your civic participation by serving on Election Day as a judge, inspector or clerk of election. These election officers earn from $150 to $175 for the day and new poll workers also receive paid training.
Poll workers must be comfortable with interacting with the public and keeping up to date with election changes. There is an expectation that election officers will perform well on Election Day and well-trained poll workers are instrumental in our ability to realize that goal. Learn more about the jobs and what is expected of workers on the Poll Worker page of the Elections website.
To apply to be a poll worker, please complete a poll worker application online. You will be redirected to the county's Support Center site where you will need to log in or create an account. Once logged in, select the “Request Service” tile and then choose “Election Poll Worker” to provide your responses if you're not automatically directed to that page.
Know a high school student who may be interested in serving as a poll worker? The Elections Division is now accepting applications for the Student Poll Worker Program. Learn more.
