The Township is pleased to announce the grand reopening of Fall Run Park, on May 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. This is a free event, but for planning purposes we are requesting that you register.
Ribbon Cutting at 1:00 PM: Thank you to Senator Vulakovich, State Representatives Hal English and
Dom Costa for their assistance with the grants received for this project.
Family Fun Event Details: Join us for this fun filled day and help us to celebrate the reopening of our beautiful park.
Activities: Children’s scavenger hunt, bounce houses, nature crafts and climbing wall. Walk the trail through Fall Run Park, approximately 1 mile. Shaler North Hills Library will have a booth and fun activities. Stop by to see some Botanic artists work and individual may borrow the new metal detector with your library card. Members of the Monroeville Area Metal Detector Club will also be present. They will demonstrate how to use one and you will be on your way to discovering treasures.
Crafts: Be creative and make your own “birdnoculars” to view birds along the trail, and your Fall Run Park memory “platescape”.
Speakers who will highlight the nature and wildlife found throughout the park. Speakers include the PA Game Commission, PA Fish and Boat Commission, Audubon Society, TreeVitalize (W. PA Conservancy), North Area Environmental Council, Shaler North HIlls Library and an informational booth to explain the natural aspects of the park renovations.
